Does any of this sound familiar?
You made the move abroad, but still feel like an outsider.
Whether you followed your partner, here for university, or your career brought everyone along for the ride, building a life in a new country takes more out of you than anyone warns you about. You're doing fine on paper. Inside is a different story. That's worth talking about.
You're burned out. Getting through the day takes everything you've got.
You used to care about your work or school and the people in your life. Somewhere along the way you hit a wall. You're not lazy and you're not weak. You're depleted. And you want to find your way back to the person you were before it got like this.
You're a man carrying a lot. You don't have to carry it alone.
Whether it's your first time or you've done this before, our sessions feel like a real conversation, not traditional clinical therapy. Fathers running on empty, stay-at-home dads adjusting to a role nobody talks about honestly, men who've been carrying something for a long time and are ready to put some of it down. You don't need a reason that sounds serious enough.
You're managing a chronic illness. Your mental health is feeling it too.
A medical diagnosis doesn't just affect you physically. It changes how you see yourself, what you think you're capable of, and what you're allowed to want from your life. I understand that from personal experience, not just from training. If the mental load of managing your health has become its own problem, that's worth addressing.
You'll work directly with me. No waiting lists, no being passed along to someone else.
How it works
Getting started is simpler than you might think.
1. Book a free 15-minute consult
Pick a time online that suits you. Evenings and weekends are available.
2. Have a real conversation
Tell me a little about what's going on and ask me anything. No forms, no pressure.
3. Decide in your own time
If it feels right, we book your first session. The paperwork only comes after you've decided.
Sessions are 50 minutes, online or as a Walk & Talk in and around The Hague. See services and pricing
Hi, I'm Andrew.
I've spent 16+ years as a licensed social worker, starting in the US with people living with cancer and HIV and their families. That work taught me more about what people actually need than anything I read in a textbook.
I'm also an expat in The Hague, so I know what it's like to build a life somewhere that doesn't feel like home yet. I want our sessions to be something you look forward to, not something you dread. Some conversations will be tough. Some might make you laugh. Either way, my hope is that you leave feeling energized and more like yourself.

You don't need the right words to start.
Or a reason that sounds serious enough. A 15-minute conversation is a good place to begin.
